Hanoi (in general)

Overall we liked Hanoi, it was what you'd expect as the Vietnamese capital. Slowly becoming westernised, buildings getting taller and taller and more and more commercial. Obviously still maintaining some Vietnam specialties such as the obscene amounts of mopeds (or as we affectionally renamed them - 'the deathpeds'), the endless amounts of Phó (a traditional Vietnamese dish), and plentiful women walking round with triangular hats selling fresh fruit. The rush of the city calms as you reach the centre point, however. A large lake is the focal point of the city. With a temple amidst the water, the smell of incense creates a peaceful energy to sit and take in the view.

Staying in the Little Hanoi Hostel made our stay very comfortable, it really is true what they say about the hospitality of the Vietnamese.
